Software for designing shelves used to display carpets in shops:
Due to new European legislation, a company producing shelves used to display carpets needed to upgrade its design documentation for its total product range. The product range spans over many different deigns for various applications of carpet display.
Instead of just renewing the old documentation, the company wanted to be able to provide a rapid design of existing products and new variations of these.
GlexTech's consultants developed a combination of FEM and database software to meet the above requirements. This software enabled the company within minutes to calculate new designs and documentation that meet the European legislation. Furthermore the company updated all of its existing design documentation in just a few hours.
Software for designing mufflers for ships, power plants, etc.
An older program, used to design mufflers, needed to be updated. The program was written in MS-DOS Basic and had failed to work with Windows 95 and newer versions of Windows. Furthermore the user interface of the program needed to be improved to increase productivity.
GlexTech's consultants developed a combined Visual Basic and Excel application with a new improved user interface and the ability to run under the new generations of Windows (95, 98, NT4, NT5, Windows 2000, etc.).
To improve the program productivity further, the application was linked to a CAD software for direct drawing of the finished design without any interaction from the user.
Furthermore due to their technical expertise GlexTech's consultants suggested some acoustical and fluid dynamic improvements to the program to improve productivity.
The new software reduced the time used to design mufflers by up to 80 %.
Software for developing mufflers for vehicles, etc.
An older program used to model mufflers and muffler internals needed to be updated. The program was written in MS-DOS Basic and had failed to work with Windows 95 and newer versions of Windows. Furthermore the user interface of the program needed to be improved to increase productivity.
The reason for improving the user interface was that a simple problem would take around 6-8 hours for a welltrained engineer to solve.
GlexTech's consultants developed an FEM-modelling software with an improved user interface including model creation and result analyses. This was written in Delphi to ensure the ability to run under the new generations of Windows (95, 98, NT4, NT5, Windows 2000, etc.).
This new software reduced the above-mentioned modelling time to only a few minutes and introduced new ways of evaluating results.
